Have you ever had a job that you thought was beneath you? Did you do the best at that job, or did you give it a half-hearted effort because you thought you deserved better?

There is a natural tendency to not give our best to things we don't enjoy or that aren't really of interest to us. 

But is that the way we should approach boring, mundane work? No, we should give our best at whatever we spend our time doing.

William Crawford was a humble, unassuming janitor for the cadets at the United States Air Force Academy. What the cadets didn't know about this modest man who polished their floors, scrubbed their toilets, and emptied their trash, was that he had received our nation's highest military award, the Medal of Honor. Here was a hero who won the Medal of Honor for his actions during World War II, who didn't believe cleaning up after others was a job that was beneath him.
