How do you stay focused when distractions are going on all around you? According to the Time Doctor, most people will experience between 31.6 and 60 distractions per day. Each distraction takes up between five and twenty-five minutes of your day, which can add up to a significant amount of wasted hours. Here are three ways to avoid distractions and be more productive: 1. Get Your To-Do List on Paper - Writing down the things you need to do ensures you don't forget anything and clears your mind to focus on the important items. 2. Determine "How" You Will Accomplish Each Item On Your To-Do List - Prioritize the action steps necessary to accomplish the items on your To-Do List and check them off from most important to least important. 3. Begin - Sometimes the hardest part of avoiding distractions, is to start acting on your priorities. Once you begin you tend to build momentum as you accomplish each of your action steps. Knowing what needs to be done and devising a plan on how to accomplish it, is one of the easiest ways to become productive when distractions are happening all around you.
