Not that this is much of a choice, but if you were given an option, would you rather be stupid or evil?

The late physicist, Stephen Hawking said, "The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance but the illusion of knowledge."

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a German theologian and someone who was opposed to Hitler and the Nazi cause during World War II.

He theorized that the problem in Nazi Germany was not the wickedness of the people, but their stupidity. He postulated that stupidity is an enemy of good which is much more dangerous than evil, because stupidity is not open to reason or discussion.

Bonhoeffer goes on to explain that stupidity is not an intellectual defect, but a moral one. It allows fools to set aside evidence, logic, and reason and be satisfied and self-satisfied with a situation, regardless of how evil that condition is.
