What does it take to grow and thrive in an organization, a family, or a relationship?
The biggest thing that fosters growth is a "team-minded" approach, an "other-minded" way of committing your gifts and talents for the betterment of others. People don't stay isolated in their lane. They collaborate. They learn how their function or personality interacts best with others. They use their strengths to build better by combining them with the character of others. As a result of these associations, there is growth, there is resiliency, there is mutual respect. Because of these "other-centered" qualities of commitment, teamwork, and most importantly, trust, these bonds allow for the fulfillment of the vision of the group or relationship. Here are three ways to thrive in your life: 1. Have a passion - Mike Rowe from Dirty Job is quoted as saying, "Never follow your passion, but bring it with you wherever you go." To thrive, you must have a passion for something which spurs you on to gain more knowledge and interest. 2. Be resilient - Being resilient is having the ability to change and adapt as your circumstances develop. Being someone who thrives means you can respond and react as your environment ebbs and flows. 3. Keep your perspective - Remaining optimistic, no matter how difficult things become, is a necessity to thrive. Anticipate and believe the future will be better and brighter. regardless of how bleak things are today. Understand that to thrive, you must live with a continual service mentality. We should constantly develop and improve in service to ourselves and our relationships. By doing so, we will continue to grow and thrive.
