If someone were to ask you what were your "Comfort Zones." how would you respond?
What is a Comfort Zone? It's a place where you feel safe and secure. A place where there is no struggle or stress. A place where there is peace and quiet. Interestingly, we hear about how the only way we can grow, the only way we can improve, the only way we can get better, is to step outside those Comfort Zones and do things that make us uncomfortable. But what are some of the other "Zones" that we experience in life? There is the "Fear Zone." Many people live in this Zone, especially when it comes to social media. The Fear Zone is a place where our behavior is dictated by the judgments and opinions of others. The people who live in the Fear Zone lack the confidence and conviction to stand up for themselves. There is the "Learning Zone." In this Zone, we are attempting to evaluate and understand the challenges, issues, and problems we are facing in our lives. By comprehending these challenges, we are forced to develop new capabilities and skills to meet these problems and by doing this, we expand our Comfort Zones. There is also, the "Growth Zone." Not many people get to the Growth Zone. In this Zone, we determine our purposes in life. We uncover our unique abilities, gifts, and talents. We dream big dreams and are ready to pay the price to make those dreams come true. Our Comfort Zones are just one of the many Zones we face in our lives. Some of these Zones, challenge us, expand our knowledge, and help us find the reasons we were born. Others, cause us anxiety, fear, and stress. Every Zone we encounter in life can serve a beneficial function. But it's up to us to use the traits of each Zone as a way to grow and improve, and not allow the Zone to force us to recede and shrink.
